Plans for a new subdivision in the Sardis area in the works

By Ken Stanford Contributing Editor
Plans for a new subdivision and retail center in the Sardis area are scheduled to go before the Hall County Planning Commission Monday.

Steve McKibbon, Sr., wants a 22.22-acre tract on Sardis Road at Ledan Road rezoned from Agricultural-Residential III to Highway Business and Residential-1. Plans for the site also include "retail sales," according to the agenda.

The location for the proposed development sits at the intersection of Sardis and Ledan Roads, the same location where the county will build a round-about to alleviate traffic congestion in the area. Chestatee High School is located less than a half mile from the intersection.

McKibbon and one of his partners last week met with residents in the area to discuss their ideas ahead of the planning commission meeting.

The Hall County Planning Commission will meet Monday, April 3 at 5:15 p.m. at the Hall County Government Center.
