Change in leadership coming at Jackson EMC in Gainesville

By AccessWDUN staff
Jackson EMC has named David Lee its new district manager in Gainesville.

Lee will replace longtime district manager Bill Sanders, who plans to retire around the end of April, according to a news release from the utility.

"David’s long track record of leadership in Hall County and surrounding communities made him the right person for this job," Lee Chapman, Vice President, Marketing, Member Services and Governmental Affairs for Jackson EMC said in the release.  "Hall County is poised for continuing growth, and I know Jackson EMC can rise to the challenges of that growth with David leading what is already a great team in the communities we serve there."

Lee joined Jackson EMC in 1999 as a C/I Marketing Representative in Lawrenceville before being promoted to Senior C/I Representative in Gainesville in 2005. Before he joined Jackson EMC, David had a decade-long career in petroleum sales and marketing.

During his time in Gainesville, David worked closely with some of the cooperative’s largest local members, including Kubota, ZF Wind and King’s Hawaiian.

Lee has served as Chairman of the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of Rehabilitation Industries of North Georgia and Chairman of the Lanier Joint Development Authority.

Lee is a current board member for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Junior Achievement of North Georgia and is a member of the Gainesville Kiwanis Club and the Hall County Development Authority.

Later this year, he will assume the role of Chairman of the Economic Development Council in Hall County.

Lee earned a Bachelor’s Degree and certificate in management from the University of Georgia, and expects to earn a Masters in Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary in 2018.

Lee will transition to the position following Sanders' retirement.
