CORNELIA — What was a reported as a head-on wreck with possible serious injuries just outside Cornelia Wednesday afternoon wasn't as bad as feared, according to the Georgia State Patrol.
The wreck was reported about 1:40 p.m. on Locke Road, just off Chase Road behind Walmart in Cornelia, according to Trooper 1st Class J. Tucker of GSP Post 7 in Toccoa.
A 2001 black Ford Crown Victoria driven by James Brown, 43, of Cornelia was traveling north on Locke Road, while a black 2004 Nissan Xterra driven by Natasha Haney of Demorest was traveling south, Tucker said.
The Ford crossed the center of the roadway and struck the Xterra, Tucker said.
Brown was cited for failure to maintain lane. He and his passenger, 24-year-old Kenneth Brown of Clarkesville, were injured in the collision, as was Haney.
All three occupants were transported by ambulance to Habersham Medical Center with minor injuries, Tucker said.
