Longtime Lula City Councilman Lamb Griffin hospitalized

LULA — In a rare instance, longtime Lula City Councilman Lamb Griffin missed Monday night's city council meeting.

"Lamb has been a city council member for some time and we believe this is one of his first absences," City Manager Dennis Bergin said. "But he gets an excuse on this and gets our prayers and concern."

That's because Griffin was hospitalized Monday subsequent to a health-related issue over the weekend.

"This morning he went to Northeast Georgia, which is the right place to be if you have an incident with your heart," Bergin said. "The good news is, they've run some tests today and the last we heard is they hadn't found anything that was of any surprise to them. They hadn't identified a culprit either, but there's a chance he may get to come home tomorrow and we're going to wish him our best wishes, and of course our prayers along with that."

Councilman Marvin Moore preceded the meeting with prayer for Griffin and for a city employee's family whose newborn child is having serious health issues.
