Hall County authorities think they've solved a couple of entering auto cases in South Hall County with the arrest of a Jefferson man.

Hall County Sheriff's Deputy Stephen Wilbanks said Wednesday afternoon that deputies arrested Jorge Serrano, 35, just after 4 a.m. Friday, March 10 in the Reunion subdivision.

"Deputies initially responded to the area regarding reports of suspicious persons in the neighborhood, possibly breaking into vehicles," Wilbanks wrote in an email. "During the course of the deputies’ roadside investigation, it was determined that Serrano matched the description given by those callers, and also that he was driving while unlicensed."

Wilbanks said Serrano was arrested and and that's when deputies found a handgun that was reported stolen on February 23, 2017 from a South Hall residence. He said Serrano also had other property that was suspected to be stolen.

During the course of the investigation, authorities learned that two juveniles, also from Jefferson, were involved in the incident. Charges against the two are pending.

Serrano remains in the Hall County Jail on charges of entering auto (two counts), loitering and prowling, theft by receiving, driving while unlicensed and contributing to the delinquency of a minor (two counts).
