By AccessWDUN Staff

Deputies with the Jackson County Sheriff's Office recently arrested a Nicholson man and an Athens woman after finding the pair in a vacant house in Nicholson.

Authorities said they got a call Friday, March 10 about activity at the house and when they responded, they found a vehicle parked in the driveway of the residence. They said Jerry Keith, 38, and Autumn Harris, 26, walked from the back of the residence toward a deputy. The deputy reported "an odor of marijuana was coming from their persons." The deputy said Keith physically resisted arrest, so he was handcuffed and taken into custody. Harris also was handcuffed and arrested.

Keith faces charges of burglary in the 2nd degree, possession of less than one ounce of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine, criminal interference with government property, three counts of possession of a Schedule II rug, pills not in original container, possession of dangerous drugs and felony obstruction of law enforcement officers. Harris was charged with burglary in the 2nd degree, possession of less than one ounce of marijuana, three counts of possession of a Schedule II drug, possession of dangerous drugs and pills not in original container.

Both suspects remain in the Jackson County Jail.
