Alleged attempted witness influencing leads to arrest of Flowery Branch woman

GAINESVILLE - A Flowery Branch woman has been arrested for allegedly attempting to influence a witness.

Hall County Sheriff's Deputy Steven Wilbanks said in a media release that 51-year-old Beth Michelle Bayless was taken into custody on Thursday, March 9th.

Wilbanks said the arrest of Bayless came as the result of an investigation into an incident in which she contacted the victim of a domestic assault that occured in May and attempted to persuade that victim to drop the charges.

Wilbanks said, "The suspect in the original domestic violence case was her (Bayless) live-in boyfriend...the victim was her (Bayless) boy friend's daughter."

Additionally, Wilbanks reported, a separate warrant was obtained for reckless conduct as a result of a February 21, 2017, incident in which Bayless was distraught and discharged a firearm in the driveway of her home on Orville Drive in Flowery Branch.

Bayless was booked into the Hall County Jail where she remains held on bond.
