BRUNSWICK — Flowery Branch responded from a tough loss on Friday to beat host Glynn Academy 12-3 Saturday in the Baseball at the Beach Classic.
Anthony Grutadaurio had two hits and four RBI to lead a 12-hit attack for Flowery Branch (3-3). Blake Decker also had two hits and one RBI .
The Falcons stormed out of the gates with five runs in the first two innings and led 8-0 until the Red Terriors cut the lead to 8-3 in the fifth inning. Flowery Branch added a run in the sixth and three more in the seventh to put the game out of reach.
Preston Felt started and went four innings allowing no runs and no hits while striking out eight to earn the win. Andrew Armstrong went the final three innings allowing three runs and two hits.
Sean Akin, Grant Lackey, AJ Gonzalez, and Andrew Reichart each had one hit for Flowery Branch. Lackey, Gonzalez, and Andrew Rolader each had one RBI for the Falcons.
Flowery Branch next will travel to East Hall on Tuesday.
