GAINESVILLE — The Lakeview Academy girls soccer team used a stellar defensive effort to knock off Flowery Branch 1-0 Friday night.
Ansley Rochester had several crucial saves in goal to record her second shutout behind defense standouts Jackie Allen, Olivia Robbins, Ellie Kate Madonna, and Abigail Child.
Meredith Tucker provided the only goal blasting a 45-yard bullet off a free kick into the upper 90 midway through the second half.
Lakeview Academy (3-2) next will travel to East Hall on Tiuesday in a non-region match.
Flowery Branch (2-3-1) will play host to Gainesville on Tuesday. The Lady Falcons have dropped two straight.
