GAINESVILLE — Chapel Hill used a big fourth quarter run to pull away from Chestatee in a 51-36 victory in the first round of the Class AAAA state tournament.
The Lady War Eagles fell behind 15-9 after the first quarter but closed to within 25-21 by halftime. The game stayed tight until the fourth quarter with Chapel Hill leading just 35-31.
The Lady Panthers (16-10) outscored Chestatee (20-8) 16-5 in the final period to pu the game away.
Lindsey Caudell paced Chestatee with 16 points. Brooklyn Popham had six points,Maggie McNair and Kaylie Barret with three points apiece, and Peri Satterfield, Becca Eddins, Alex Edmonds, and Morgan Bryant finished with two points each for the Lady War Eagles.
