Two people are dead from a plane crash near the Barrow County airport Thursday afternoon.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) have been called to investigate, according to the Barrow County Sheriff's Office; the crash happened around 2 p.m. according to Cpt. Scott Dakin with Barrow County EMS.
Officials are unsure what led to the crash, since nobody witnessed it, said Dakin in a phone interview; authorities don't know if the plane was taking off or landing.
There was a small fire that sparked from the accident, but it was quickly contained.
The airport is located in Winder near Ga. 82.
Dakin said officials are still working to identify the victims, and figure out what exactly led to the crash.
