LISTEN: Gainseville woman's incredible survival story

By Afternoon News Wrap

Gainesville resident LeeAnn James suffered a massive cardiac arrest two weeks ago. With only an 8% chance of leaving the hospital alive, LeeAnn and her doctors tell the miraculous story of survival and recovery.

Just a day after watching the Atlanta Falcons win the NFC championship at the Georgia Dome, LeeAnn James experienced a massive cardiac arrest at her office. She was without a pulse for over half an hour and given an 8% chance of leaving the hospital alive, but through the help of the first paramedic responder, the Medical Director for the Emgerceny Dept at NE Ga, her Interventional Cardiologist and the staff at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, LeeAnn beat the slim odds and was able to watch the Falcons again playing in the Super Bowl.
