Gainesville man faces list of charges in early Dec. chase

A 42-year-old man remained locked up Wednesday on a list of traffic charges stemming from a chase in Hall County on December 7.

Sheriff's Lt. Scott Ware said Jeremy Brian Frick wouldn't stop for deputies on that Thursday.

"Mr. Frick was seen driving recklessly, aggressively and speeding, approximately 100 miles an hour, on (Interstate) 985 near mile marker 17."

At one point in the chase, Ware said Frick's vehicle, a Ford F250 pickup truck, came to a rest facing deputies.

"He drove head-on at the deputy's patrol car, of course forcing the deputy to take evasive action to avoid being struck."

Deputies, with help from Gainesville Police and the state patrol, caught up with Frick on Lakeland Road and Cleveland Highway to make the arrest.

According to Ware, Frick was charged with:
  • Aggravated assault on a peace officer
  • DUI
  • Failure to maintain lane of travel
  • Crossing the median
  • Littering on the highway
  • Driving on a suspended license
  • Driving left of center
  • Driving the wrong way on a one way street
  • Felony fleeing and eluding
  • Reckless driving
  • Speeding
Ware said Frick's original charge was manufacturing marijuana.  A Superior Court probation warrant was issued for his arrest on December 13, according to Ware.
