Hall County teen gives back to kids for Christmas

A Murrayville teenager who was assisted by Ronald McDonald house has opted to give back to Ronald's Kids for Christmas this year.

Cailen Rundles has multiple conditions that required him to undergo several brain surgeries. Rundles told Fox 5 he stayed at the Ronald McDonald House in Sandy Springs while undergoing treatment for Chiari Malformation, Hydrocephalus and a traumatic brain injury. The 13-year-old is doing a lot better now, but remembered his time there.

This year, Rundles and his family organized a toy drive and gathered 750 toys and gifts to give to the Ronald McDonald House store.

On Christmas Day, children at the center can go to the store and pick out gifts for themselves and other family members.

The University of North Georgia helped organize and collect items for the drive. Rundles is known at University of North Georgia through Team Impact and was made a permanent member of the UNG baseball team earlier this year.

Rundles told the television station he and his family want to make it an annual tradition. “The meaning of Christmas is giving not receiving," he said.
