UPDATE: Police search for shooter, motive in possible homicide at Hall-Gwinnett line

Gwinnett Police continue the search for a shooter and a possible motive in a pair of shootings that left one man dead and another injured at the Hall-Gwinnett County line Tuesday morning.

It started around 3 a.m. when a resident of the Duncan Park neighborhood in Buford called 911, reporting the sound of gunshots in the area, at which point police responded to the scene and found a man in his early 20s suffering from a gunshot wound in the cul-de-sac on Express Lane, said Cpl. Michele Pihera, Gwinnett Police spokeswoman.

The man was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Shortly before 7 a.m. police discovered the body of a second victim, a man, inside a car "about 200-300 yards away from the original crime scene." He, too, had apparently been shot, said Pihera.

Neither victim's identity has been released at this point, pending the notification of family members.

As of 11 a.m. Tuesday, police did not know who the shooter was, nor a motive in the case. Detectives were looking into the possibility that other people could be involved.

Anyone with information in the case is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at (404) 577-TIPS, where callers could be eligible for a $2,000 reward for information in the case.
