3 make short list for new Superior Court judge in Hall, Dawson

The Georgia Judicial Nominating Commission has submitted three names to Governor Nathan Deal to be considered for a fifth Superior Court judgeship in Hall and Dawson counties.

Larry A. Baldwin, II, Clint G. Bearden and Lindsay H. Burton are on the short list after the commission interviewed seven candidates for the Northeastern Judicial Circuit position last week.

Baldwin is a Hall County State Court judge.  Bearden is an associate judge with Dawson County Magistrate Court and an attorney at the Law Offices of David E. Ralston.  Burton is chief juvenile court judge of the Northeastern Judicial Circuit.

The Governor's Office will contact the candidates for interviews, according to a media release from the commission.

The Northeastern Judicial Circuit judgeship was created earlier this year with passage of House Bill 138 in the Georgia General Assembly.

Deal will appoint a judge for the initial two-year term which begins in January.
