Georgia Mountain Food Bank releases new online fundraising option for the holidays

The Georgia Mountain Food Bank is offering supporters a new way to fund raise for the non-profit.

Online fundraising campaigns now allow anyone to raise money for the food bank, without having to physically be in any specific location. Executive Director Kay Blackstock said the food bank sees an influx of service projects around the holidays and they wanted to make fundraising easier for their supporters.

“Georgia Mountain Food Bank wants to make fundraising easy and fun,” said Blackstock. “That’s why we have rolled out a mobile friendly fundraising platform that helps organizations of any size enjoy a simple fundraising experience that doesn’t require excessive amounts of time.”

Fund-raisers can set their own monetary goal and timeline, as well as having access to promotional materials, including a custom-branded fundraising page, real time updates and access to templates for social media posts and emails.

“Thanks to our partner agencies, we are able to make a $1 donation provide 5 local meals,” Blackstock said. “Every gift truly makes a difference, and we are looking forward to seeing the creative ways that our community can leverage these online fundraisers to support a local cause.”

All proceeds from the local fundraisers stay in the community. More information can be found online or by calling 770-534-4111
