Suwanee approves contract for pair of sidewalk projects

A pair of sidewalks are one step closer to fruition in Suwanee, with city council members approving a contract for the work Tuesday evening.

The projects were grouped into a single contract, with one bringing a sidewalk to Stonecypher Road, connecting the local developments with Main Street, Suwanee Dam Road and the Brushy Creek Greenway, according to Denise Brinson, assistant city manager.

The other will connect the back of the Ruby Forest neighborhood with George Pierce Park with a 600-800 foot concrete path.

"It's one of our larger subdivisions, and making a connection to George Pierce Park, which is a 300-plus acre Gwinnett County park, will be a tremendous boon for connectivity around the city," said Brinson.

The Ruby Forest connection will cost $17,270, and the Stonecypher Road project will cost $47,145.
