The Georgia State Patrol has embarked on a campaign to fill positions within the agency throughout the state.
"We are in need of troopers all over the state," Trooper Carlos Searcy said during a Wednesday visit to AccessWDUN. "So we are looking for men and women that are looking for careers in law enforcement."
Searcy said the State Patrol is among the highest paid law enforcement agencies in the state, and the career is not all about writing traffic tickets.
"We have a SWAT Team, full-time SWAT Team. We have a dive team, guys that do underwater search and rescue. We have executive security. We have our officer professional standards, where they do investigations," Searcy said. So there's a lot of different things you could do as a State Trooper on a day-to-day basis."
Agency officials are working to build a Trooper Academy class for next June.
Qualification and application information is available at the State Patrol website.
