A 19-year-old Jefferson man was arrested late last week and charged with a burglary in Talmo and separate break-in in Commerce.
Jackson County Sheriff's Office officials said investigators looking into the Talmo crime received information that Michael Theodore Butler was hiding out in a motel in Banks County. When authorities went to the hotel on Jan. 19, they searched Butler's room and found more than $13,000 worth of property stolen in the Commerce burglary.
Authorities said Butler will likely face additional charges.
