Sugar Hill Planning Commission OK's neighborhood near Roberts ES, council to consider it

The Sugar Hill Planning Commission has given its approval, with conditions, to a new neighborhood near Roberts Elementary School along Buford Highway.

Property Solutions Group, LLC is looking to turn the 11.88-acre tract of land into 29 single-family homes that would be priced starting at $350,000, according to city documents.

The property sits directly across from Roberts Elementary, and is surrounded by industrial-zoned properties, and does not conform to the Sugar Hill Land Use Plan.

According to City Manager Paul Radford, commissioners approved the development at their meeting Tuesday night with two conditions -- a requirement of landscaping between the development and an adjacent concrete company and a disclosure of the neighboring land use in all official documents.

The homes would be 2,100 square feet for ranch homes and 2,400 for two-story homes.

City council will give the matter a final vote at its meeting February 6.
