FLOWERY BRANCH — The Flowery Branch boys basketball team picked up a key region victory on Tuesday, knocking off Walnut Grove 58-37 in Flowery Branch.
Brannon Clark put up 22 points to lead the Falcons (14-3, 3-2 Region 8-AAAAA), while John Mills added 10.
The win kept Flowery Branch ahead of Walnut Grove and Clarke Central in the 8-AAAAA standings -- just behind leaders Buford and Cedar Shoals, which play each other on Friday.
The Falcons play host to Johnson on Friday in Flowery Branch.
