The man whose body was discovered in Lake Lanier at Gainesville Marina Thursday morning rented a slip in the marina and kept his boat there, authorities said.
Deputies responded around 10:00 a.m. and determined a boater found the body floating in the lake at the marina, according to Hall County Sheriff's Deputy Stephen Wilbanks.
"The preliminary investigation has not revealed any indication of foul play, and the victim’s identity is being withheld to allow notification of family members," Wilbanks stated in an afternoon update.
Authorities described the man as white and in his 60's.
