The USA South Athletic Conference recognized Piedmont College freshman Luke Martin as its men's soccer Rookie of the Week on Monday. Martin edged out five other nominees across the conference.
Martin scored a pair of goals last week as the Lions won 6-2 against Huntingdon College on the road. The freshman from Atlanta now has three goals this season, tied for second best on the team. Martin is one of two freshmen to start each of the eight contests so far this season for Head Coach Jimmy Stephens.
The USA South Athletic Conference announces its weekly honor roll each Monday and at least half of the teams in a sport must have competed within the previous week for honors to be awarded.
