New Hall County Sheriff's training center, other projects receive final approval from Board of Commissioners

At its Thursday night voting session, the Hall County Board of Commissioners quickly approved a list of development projects that had been in the works over recent weeks.

Among the items on the consent agenda was the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Atlanta Field Office's agreement with the Hall County Sheriff's Office to build a new training center adjacent to the current Willard Baxter Firearms and Training Complex off of Allen Creek Road in Gainesville. The FBI is willing to invest up to $1.7 million on the project as this new training center will serve as its training grounds for the foreseeable future.

Hall County Sheriff Gerald Couch had outlined the plan for commissioners at their Monday work session

Also receiving final approval at Thursday's Board of Commissioners meeting was the application from Todd and Becky Jordan to turn their home off Old Cornelia Highway in Gainesville into a special events venue for small weddings, corporate meetings and family reunions. The new agri-entertainment facility won easy approval from the Hall County Planning Commission on September 10. There was no opposition to the project at Thursday's voting meeting.

In addition, commissioners approved a request from Boys of Fall, LLC to rezone a 5+ acre tract of land on Ponderosa Farm Road at Tanners Mill for a small subdivision. The developer plans to build six homes on the property.
