Volleyball: East Hall finishes 2nd at Indian Invitational

DAHLONEGA — The East Hall girls volleyball team finished second in the Indian Invitational  at Lumpkin County High School on Saturday.

The Lady Vikings (26-4) beat Dawson County, Gilmer, Pickens, Chestatee, and Lakeview Academy before falling to Harris County in the finals

East Hall beat Dawson County 25-13, 25-10, Gilmer 25-20, 25-15, Pickens 25-20, 25-17, Chestatee 25-5, 25-18 and rallied from a set-down to beat Lakeview Academy 14-25, 25-21,15-12 to move into the finals.

The Lady Vikings were a set up on Harris County before falling 25-27, 27-25, 15-8.
 
Tessa Rider scored 24 points on serve, including nine aces, and added three assists, 24 digs and 18 kills for East Hall. Savannah Thellman had 38 points scored on serve with 14 aces, three kills, 11 digs and 93 assists, Holly Poole had 11 points scored on serve with three aces, 25 kills, one assist, five blocks and three digs, and Summer Lindsey had 31 points scored on serve with eight aces, one kill, five assists and 83 digs for the Lady Vikings.

Minette Maldonado scored 41 points on serve with 11 aces, one block, three assists, 67 kills and 64 digs, Niyah Rucker had three points scored on serve with two aces, 53 kills, two assists, seven digs and 14 blocks, and Katie Baugh had one kill, one assist and five digs for East Hall. Janelly Lara scored 10 points on serve with one assist, two kills and 12 digs, Macy Thomas had five kills, five digs and two blocks, and Gali Rios had 25 points scored on serve with three aces, two assists, one kill and 21 digs for the Lady Vikings.E

East Hall will open up its Region 7-AAA schedule traveling to Dawson County on Tuesday.
