RABBITTOWN — Despite two tough losses to open the season, East Hall coach Bryan Gray said neither he nor his Vikings were ready to hit the panic button.
“There’s just too much talent on this team for us to have done that at this point of the season,” Gray said after he watched his Vikings unleash its frustrations on rival Johnson in a 47-21 win at East Hall Stadium Friday night.
“I thought the guys came out tonight on a mission,” Gray said. “We played like I think we’re capable of playing.”
Quarterback Austin Parker threw four touchdown passes, including two to Markese Jackson, and Deon Ellison, Andrew Randall, and Cambren Harrison all had touchdown runs as East Hall (1-2) raced out to a 47-0 halftime lead.
Parker, who had 216 yards passing on the night, also found Harrison for a touchdown reception.
Johnson (0-4) finally got on the board in the third quarter on a 9-yard run by Kylan Curry. Cody Long would trim the lead to 47-14 with a 7-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter and Sam Corbett connected with Qua Butler on a 62-yard scoring pass with just over a minute left for the final points of the game.
