UPDATED STORY: Towns Co. authorities say runaway teen found safe

A Towns County teenager who is believed to have run away from home over the weekend was found safe Wednesday evening.
 
Young Harris resident Cami Jo Adams, 16, was found unharmed in the area of Brasstown Creek Road, according to a press release from the Towns County Sherrif's Office.
 
Brasstown Creek Road is located roughly two miles from Adams' residence on Green Road, where she was last seen around 3:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
 
The release said the recovery of Adams was prompted by a tip given to authorities by a Blue Ridge Mountain EMC crew that was working in the area.
 
The release also included a statement from Sheriff Chirs Clinton:
 
"Sheriff Chris Clinton would like to express sincere thanks to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Georgia State Patrol Aviation Unit, Union County Sheriff’s Office, Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, Clay County, NC Sheriff's Office, Appalachian Drug Enforcement Office, Georgia Defense Force, and the Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement Unit for their assistance to the Towns County Sheriff’s Office in this investigation."

Authorities in Towns County, in conjuction with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, have issued a lookout for a Young Harris teenager who is believed to have run away from home.

Cami Jo Adams, 16, was last seen at her residence on Green Road around 3:00 p.m. Sunday, according to a press release from the Towns County Sheriff's Office.

A white female, Adams is described as 5'8" and roughly 140 lbs. She has brown hair and blue eyes.

Deputies were told that Adams "was last seen wearing cut-off blue jean shorts and a green t-shirt with 'Adams' on the back."
