Authorities ask for public's help identifying woman who allegedly stole from Gainesville church

Officials with the Hall County Sheriff's Office are asking for the public's help identifying a woman accused of stealing approximately $3,000 worth of property from a local church.

The woman, who was captured on the surveillance cameras at Corinth Baptist Church on Thompson Bridge Road in Gainesville, allegedly stole a number of musical instruments and electronics, said Deputy Stephen Wilbanks, sheriff's office spokesman.

The crime happened sometime between midnight and 6 a.m. August 25.

Wilbanks said there was no sign of forced entry, and investigators are still working to determine how the woman got inside, whether a door was unlocked or if she somehow obtained a key.

Deputies are not releasing the exact details of the items that were taken; Wilbanks said it serves as a way to vet any tips or information the department gets.

Anyone who recognizes the woman in the pictures, or has any other information pertaining to this case, is asked to contact Investigator Joey Ayers at (770) 531-6879.
