Truett McConnell College's Joao Costa was named the Appalachian Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.
Costa led the Bears to a 4-3 win over Brewton-Parker by scoring three goals back-to-back-to-back after the Barons took an early 2-0 lead. He scored the Bears' first goal in the first half of play, followed by two more in the first 10 minutes of the second half.
Costa and the Bears will return to action on Saturday as Martin Methodist comes to Cleveland for a 3 p.m. start at the TMU Soccer Complex.
