Police: Remains found along 985 that of adult woman

Gwinnett Police believe the remains found in a suitcase along Interstate 985 are that of an adult woman.

The Medical Examiner's Office determined the bones are that of a woman between 20 to 30 years old,  either of mixed race, mostly white, or Hispanic, according to a release from Gwinnett Police.

The release states the woman likely died six months ago, based on the decomposition. The entire set of bones was located in the suitcase.

The cause of death is still under investigation, police said.

Police said there are no missing person cases through their agency that match the remains.

Anyone with information on the case or the identity of the remains should contact Gwinnett Police at 770-513-5300 or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS or online.

Crime Stoppers is offering up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest and an indictment in the case.
