Hogan finishes tied for fourth in AJGA Grand Championship

DULUTH — Ryan Hogan fought to the finish but could not repeat as Atlanta Junior Golf Association Grand Champion.

The Gainesville High junior shot a third round 76 in the the AJGA Grand Championship at TPC Sugarloaf -- good enough to finish 10-over-par for the 54 hole event and tied for fourth place.

Suwanee resident Takafumi Shimoji took the title, firing a solid final round of 71 to finish up 2-over for the tournament.

Meanwhile, fellow Gainesville High student Brody Simmons also continued his climb up the leaderboard to tie for 14th with a final round of 77.

The tournament comprised the top points leaders for the AJGA's 2016 Summer Series.
