Forsyth County assault suspect captured

A man wanted in connection with three separate assault cases in Forsyth County has been captured, authorities said Tuesday.

Stephen Lyon, 26, is accused of assaulting two different women at The Collection Shopping Center and at the Publix on Mathis Airport Road, according to Deputy Epifanio Rodriguez.

"On June 14 and again on June 16, we received phone calls from two seperate victims in two seperate locations in the south end of our county in reference to a man who assualted them, and the assault was sexual in nature. He attempted to remove their dresses and bras," said Rodriguez. "In the last one that occurred, we were able to get information where it lead to the arrest of a suspect."

After talking to the suspect, plus other evidence, Rodriguez said they were able to tie Lyons to another sexual assualt at a tanning salon in February.

Rodriguez said there were inaccurate reports of attempted abductions that circulated social media stemming from the incidents at Publix.
