Forsyth County mailed incorrect property tax assessments

The recently mailed property tax assessments in Forsyth County are incorrect, officials said Wednesday.

The tax estimates are not correct due to some missing millage rates that were not put on the notices, officials said in a press release.

Property values, however, are correct.

Mary Kirkpatrick, director of the Forsyth County tax assessors office, said the county will mail revised notices as soon as they resolve the issue, though she did not provide a timetable for how quickly that would be.

In the meantime, property owners can call the tax assessor's office at (770) 781-2106 to get the correct tax estimate or dispute their property valuation.

Owners may also visit the office in person.
