The Georgia Department of Natural Resources has released statistics on boating incidents for the Memorial Day Weekend and the Gainesville area has seen the most Boating Under the Influence incidents of any major waterway in the state.
Gainesville has seen nine BUIs between Saturday morning and 8:00 p.m. Sunday according to a release from the DNR's Law Enforcement division. Macon and Brunswick are tied for second most with three such incidents. Overall, 21 BUIs were reported statewide.
No fatalities on waterways have been reported, and only two injuries have occured during the busy weekend.
