Johnson stormed back, East Hall strolled and there were performances just about everywhere in between on Tuesday, as five area boys soccer programs maintained their march through the state playoffs.
Buford also kept up its Cinderella charge, as the fourth-seeded Wolves picked off their second straight foe in the Class AAAA postseason, defeating Walnut Grove 3-0. Meanwhile, Dawson County pulled away for a lopsided, 6-2 defeat of Rutland in Class AAA. While Riverside Military Academy dominated Berrien 7-0 in Class AA.

Few games could hold a candle to the Knights' roller coaster performance, however.
Johnson watched a 2-0 lead evaporate into a 3-2 deficit before responding with authority for a 6-4 win over Pike County. The win staked the Knights to a state quarterfinal berth against Southeast Whitfield on Friday in Oakwood.
Meanwhile, East Hall will move into the quarterfinals on the back of a 10-1 destruction of Peach County. The Vikings will take on Blessed Trinity on Friday (venue to be determined via a coin flip).
It wasn't all glory on Tuesday, however, as Jefferson lost a 1-0 heartbreaker to Decatur in Class AAA. Gainesville also battled to the end but fell to Class AAAAA No. 1 McIntosh 3-0 on the road. White County also fell 2-0 at Spalding in Class AAAA; Union County fell to Putnam County in Class AA, and East Jackson suffered a 8-0 defeat to Blessed Trinity.
