Mike Marlar took the lead from T.J. Reaid on the opening lap, and went on to score the victory in Saturday night’s Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series feature at Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tenn.
Marlar and Reaid brought the field to green, with Marlar jumping out to the lead. Meanwhile, Skip Arp and Casey Roberts battled for third. After securing the third position, Arp began working to run down Reaid.
Behind the leaders, Riley Hickman moved around Chris Ferguson for fifth.
The caution came out on lap six when Jeff Wolfenbarger spun in turn one and two. On the restart, Marlar jumped ahead of the field while the other battled for position behind him.
Arp finally got by Reaid, but did not have enough time to chase down Marlar, who collected $5,000 for the win.
Arp finished in second, with Reaid in third, Hickman in fourth and Tommy Kerr in fifth.
Chris Ferguson, Dylan Ames, Derek Ellis, Eric Wells and Shannon Buckingham rounded out the top ten.
Up next for the Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series comes on April 30 at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Alabama.
