Four new recruits joined the ranks of Barrow County Emergency Services in a ceremony on Thursday.
The ceremony was held at the Barrow County Emergency Services headquarters building.
“The four recruits will be a great addition to our staff and to the citizens we serve,” said Training Captain Bryan Bullock. “They worked hard to learn as much as they could during recruit school. As long as they are in this career I pray they never stop the learning process.”
Keynote speaker Deputy Chief Alan Shuman noted that the new recruits were stepping into a new role in their lives and urged them to remember the teamwork they learned in class.
“This is a team and you are now part of it,” he said. “Always rely on your team when working and always strive to make the team look good.”
The class was taught by personnel with Barrow County Emergency Services and upon completion the recruits are certified as NPQ Firefighter 2 and Hazardous Material Operations Level.
The rookies are assigned to different shifts where they will now work with their station crews in learning more about their new careers.
