It was only a matter of time before David McCoy scored his first Toccoa Raceway victory of the 2016 season. That time came on Saturday night, as the historic Toccoa, Georgia speedway played host to the FASTRAK Late Model Series.
The Franklin, North Carolina speedster, who made a habit of winning at Toccoa in 2015, powered to the front of the field and went on to score the win and the $2,000 winner’s paycheck.
Colby Cannon crossed the finish line behind McCoy, having to settle for second place. Cla Knight finished in third, followed by Frankie Beard in fourth and Travis Pennington in fifth.
John Henderson, Jr., Corey Gordon, Zack Mitchell, Matthew Nance and David Smith rounded out the top ten.
The FASTRAK Late Model Series returns to action on Saturday, April 9 at Virginia Motor Speedway in Jamaica, Virginia, with $3,000 on the line for the winner. For more info, FASTRAKRacing.com.
