Several Gainesville churches will sponsor a Good Friday event tomorrow that will begin at Grace Episcopal Church near Brenau University and end at First Baptist Church on Green Street.
Beginning at 1:00, participants in the Stations of the Cross are scheduled to leave Grace enroute to First Baptist.
A spokesman for the Gainesville Police Department, Kevin Holbrook, says it is his understanding that the group will travel via sidewalks. "We do plan on assisting at the pedestrian crosswalk at Green Street and Ridgewood Avenue. Green Street will remain open and traffic should not be hindered."
According to various Websites, Stations of the Cross refers to a series of images depicting Jesus on the day of his crucifixion.
