By Series PR

ATLANTA, Ga. - The United Sprint Car Series is set to opens its 20th season of competition at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi this weekend.

The Atlanta, Georgia based series will be in action on Friday, February 26 and Saturday, February 27 as part of the 8th annual USCS “Frost Buster 250”, featuring a two-night double-header for the USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour sprint cars.

The event will award USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour National Championship points and USCS Mid South Thunder regional series points each night. The event also gives the drivers from the USCS Southern Thunder region a chance to use their finish to replace a USCS Southern Thunder regional event finish as a bonus for participating in this Mid South region event.

Race fans and race teams will be treated to a full menu of speed contests with racing in eight of the area’s most popular divisions. The event includes one of only two scheduled 2016 season appearances for the USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour presented winged sprint cars. The weekend features over 400 laps of racing around the 3/8 mile clay oval.

The eight racing divisions featured in back-to-back nights include the USCS Sprint Cars Series, the USCS Modified Series, Super Late Models Nesmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Models, plus the popular Magnolia Motor Speedway weekly racing series Nesmith Street Stocks and Factory Stocks. The area’s 602 Stock Late Model racing division is on the racing card for the first time in their only scheduled appearance at “The Mag” so far in 2016.
