Class AAA: Banks County boys fall to Central (Macon) on buzzer-beater

MACON — The Banks County boys season came to a gut-wrenching end Saturday in the second round of the Class AAA playoffs..

Despite 27 points from Zez Steeple, the Leopards lost 69-67 to Central (Macon) on a last-second, buzzer beating shot lost on a last second shot.

Central was the No. 1 seed from Region 2-AAA and pushed its win streak to 20 straight with the victory.

Kahmal Wiley had 15 points and 13 rebounds for Banks County. Trevae Cain added 11 points and Zac Orr had 12 rebounds for the Leopards, Orr, however, was held to just two points for the game.

Banks County finished the season at 24-5 and as the Region 7-AAA regular season champions. The Leopards, however, were the No. 3 seed in the playoffs.
