Baseball: North Hall falls to St. Pius

GAINESVILLE — St. Pius rallied from an early deficit to beat North Hall 5-4 Thursday in baseball action at Jody Davis Field.

The Golden Lions took a quick 1-0 lead in the top of the first but North Hall (1-1) grabbed a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the inning. The Trojans pushed their lead to 3-1 in the third.

St. Pius tied the game in the top of the fourth with a pair of runs and then took a 5-3 lead in the fifth, aided by a a pair of North Hall errors. The Trojans closed to within 5-4 in the bottom of the seventh but could not push the tying runs across.

Reese Olson pitched four innings allowing three runs, only one earned, on four hits and fanned three. Corban Meeler took the loss allowing two runs on four hits in three innings. He struck out five.

Austin Adams and Fowler Brooks had two hits each for North Hall. Brooks also had two RBI. Taber Mongero, Drew Atha, Dylan Lavender, and Jackson Latty had one hit apiece. Latty also had two RBI for the Trojans.
