Baseball: Chestatee rallies from 5-run deficit to beat East Hall

GAINESVILLE — Joe Sutton singled in a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh to give Chestatee a 6-5 win over East Hall Thursday as the War Eagles rallied from five runs down.

East Hall jumped out to a big lead in the top of the first with four runs on two. The Vikings added another run in the second for a 5-0 lead.

Chestatee began to chip away with a run in the third. The War Eagles added two more in the sixth.

They capped the wild comeback with three runs in the bottom of the seventh. In the seventh, Kyle Garrett led off the inning with a double, and Micah Flanagan and Sean Irick drew walks to load the bases. Garrett scored on a wild pitch and then Sutton knocked in pinch-runner Dawson Brock and Irick for the game-winning runs

Trip Lemay pitched four shutout innings in relief to get the win. 

The War Eagles (2-0) next will play host to West Hall on Friday night at 5:55 p.m.
