Hall GOP meeting Feb. 20 is part of process of selecting delegates to national convention

By Ken Stanford Contributing Editor

The Georgia Republican Party is beginning the process of selecting delegates to this summer's national Republican convention, and for the Hall County party that process begins next Saturday.

Declaring that "early involvement begins at the grassroots level in your voting precinct," the state party has released a timeline for conventions and precinct meetings at the local, district and state levels which will culminate in June with the selection of delegates and alternates to the national convention, which will be held in Cleveland, Ohio, July 18-21.

In Hall County, the local GOP will hold mass precinct meetings Feb. 20 at 10:00 at party headquarters on Queen City Parkway.  These caucuses are being held in each Georgia county with a population of 80,000 or more.  At those meetings delegates and alternates to county conventions will be selected.

County conventions will take place March 19, followed on April 16 by district conventions.  The state convention will be held June 3-4 in Augusta.

Congressman Doug Collins and Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp have been invited to speak at the Hall County precinct meetings.
