Police ID woman hit and injured in Christmas morning accident near Lawrenceville

Gwinnett County police now know the identity of the young woman who was hit and injured by a vehicle on Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road on Christmas morning.
 
In a press statement, Cpl. Deion Washington said the woman's name is Taylor Hamm, 24, of Atlanta. Hamm was not carrying identification at the time of the accident, and police had asked for help from the public to determine her identity.
 
Initially taken to Gwinnett Medical Center in critical condition, Hamm is now said to be in stable condition.
 
Washington said Hamm was walking along the road around 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, December 25 when she stepped into the road and into the path of a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was not charged in the accident. Washington said he did not know why Hamm was in the Lawrenceville area.
