Truett men fall to Bluefield

BLUEFIELD, Va. — The Truett McConnell men's basketball team was out-shot by Bluefield Saturday afternoon as the Rams ran away with the game, winning by a final score of 84-59.

The Bears never led in the game as Bluefield hit a three-pointer on the opening possession. David Campbell Jr. tied it up on the Bears' first possession, but Bluefield stayed hot from the field as they pulled away early and never looked back.

The Rams shot over 54 percent from the field compared to right at 39 percent for TMU. The Bears were also just 3-for-13 from the free throw line, while Bluefield missed just four free throws in the contest.

Christian Davis led all scorers with 22 points, including shooting 6-for-10 from beyond the arc.

The Bears hit the road again on Wednesday as they take on Florida National in Hialeah, Florida. Tip off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
