DEMOREST — The Lakeview Academy girls improved to 3-0 Tuesday with a 67-60 victory Rabun County in the finals of the Hardwood Classic at Piedmont College.
Hanna Grogan paced the Lady Lions with 18 points and was named the tournament Most Valuable Player.
Christen Copeland added 14 points for Lakeview and was named to the All-tournament team. Ryann Moody had 12 points for the Lady Lions.
Rabun County (1-2) was led by Savannah Scott with 18 points. Scott also was named to the All-tournament team.
It was a wild back-and-forth affair as Lakeview Academy opened with a 27-14 first quarter run. But the Lady Wildcats rallied to take a 37-35 halftime lead after outscoring Lakeview 23-8 in the second quarter.
Lakeview Academy answered back in the seocnd half outscoring Rabun County 15-12 in the third quarter and then holding on down the stretch with a 17-11 fourth quarter spurt.
