GAINESVILLE — Chestatee used a 19-7 first quarter to take a quick lead en route to a 49-41 win over Jackson County Saturday in girls basketball action.
The Lady War Eagles (2-0) took a 31-17 lead into halftime but had to hold on in the second half.
Jackson County (0-1) closed to within 36-33 heading into the fourth quarter but Chestatee outscored the Lady Panthers 14-8 in the fourth quarter to pull away.
Lindsey Caudell poured in a game-high 30 points to lead Chestatee. Peri Satterfield added seven points and Brooklyn Popham had six points for the Lady War Eagles.
Chestatee next will play host to Habersham Central on Monday at 6 p.m.
