Groundbreaking held for new Forsyth Co. park

By AccessWDUN staff

Ground was broken last week for a new park in Forsyth County that will include a canoe and kayak launch on the Etowah River.

Eagle’s Beak Park will be located off of Old Federal Road in Ball Ground, and its construction is being funded by the Parks, Recreation and Green Space Bond approved by Forsyth County voters in 2008 and by the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) VI program.

Phase I of the 230-acre park, which is expected to be completed sometime next spring, will feature a canoe and kayak launch on the Etowah River, nature trails, restroom facility and parking.
